Our luxurious self-catering stays are located on the ocean front in Betty’s Bay and centrally in Hermanus, two of the most sought-after seaside destinations in the Western Cape, South Africa.

Misty Shores Cottage, in Betty’s Bay, designed exclusively for two, is an intimate old-world nautical cottage set within a protected biosphere reserve. Simple yet luxurious, it offers privacy, coastal charm, nearby African penguin encounters, access to wine farms, and exceptional hiking - creating a refined and tranquil retreat in nature.

Tucked away within a protected biosphere reserve this old-world nautical cottage is a quiet celebration of nature, simplicity, and refined comfort. The cottage blends classic maritime character with understated luxury: weathered textures, thoughtful details and a calming pallet inspired by sea and shore. Every element has been carefully chosen to feel both simple and indulgent, allowing you to settle in without distraction. There are no excesses here - only quality craftmanship, and a deep respect for the surrounding landscape.

Step outside and you are immersed in the rhythm of the biosphere reserve, where nature is protected, cherished, and ever present. Nearby, an African Penguin breeding colony offers a unique and memorable wildlife experience, while world class wine farms are a short drive away, perfect for leisurely tastings and long lunches. For those drawn to the outdoors the surrounding area provides exceptional hiking trails through fynbos, mountains, and coastal scenery.

  • Wish we could have stayed longer

    "We loved our stay and wished we could stay longer. It is an amazing apartment which is in real even more beautiful than in pictures. It was all new and tidy. A big bonus is the pool with a nice view. It’s a short walk into the town where you have all restaurant and cafés. There is also a really nice bakery (Daan’s bakery) only 2 minutes away with the best bread and croissants. Garth&Therese sent us great recommendations for things to do in the area and were very fast in communication. Thank you for having us!"
