Self-Catering Accommodation with Sea Views in Betty’s Bay: Discover Misty Shores Cottage

If you’re looking for self-catering accommodation in Betty’s Bay with sea views, mountain views and a little peace and quiet, Misty Shores Cottage might be just what you need.

Part of Kalliste Boutique Stays, this intimate oceanfront cottage is all about slowing down and enjoying the simple things. Fall asleep to the sound of the ocean, feel the cool sea breeze, and spend lazy mornings watching birds feed on nectar in the fynbos-rich garden. You might even spot a mongoose racing down the garden path or hear porcupines rustling about after dark.

Just steps from the cottage, natural rock pools and a tidal pool invite you to explore, while the surrounding mountains and coastline provide a beautiful backdrop to days with nowhere in particular to be.

What to do around Betty’s Bay

Betty’s Bay is peaceful throughout the year, making it an ideal escape from busy city life. There’s plenty to explore if you feel like venturing out.

  • Nature and wildlife: Visit the Stony Point Penguin Colony, Harold Porter National Botanical Garden and Hangklip Lighthouse, or look for the wild horses at Rooisand Nature Reserve.

  • Beaches and coastal discoveries: Explore the many secluded coves and beaches, discover the caves at Dappat se Gat, or enjoy a leisurely drive along the spectacular Clarence Drive.

  • Walking and hiking: There are wonderful trails in the area, but our personal favourite is Leopard’s Kloof Gorge, with its lush vegetation and beautiful waterfalls.

  • Good food and coffee: Enjoy a meal at Waaygat, Chapter 3, Black Pearl or Koring & Kaf, and stop for coffee at Coffee on Clarence.

  • Wine routes: Betty’s Bay is well positioned for exploring the Bot River and Hemel-en-Aarde Valley wine routes, making a day of wine tasting an easy addition to your stay.

Of course, you don’t have to go anywhere. Some of the best moments at Misty Shores are spent simply enjoying the ocean, exploring the rock pools or sitting in the garden with a cup of coffee.
